The next two weeks are crucial, for the next two weeks will witness the release of two diverse, big-budget films – LUCK [Studio 18] and LOVE AAJ KAL [Eros]. The past few weeks have seen the business hit an all-time low, with SHORT KUT and JASHNN proving non-starters at the box-office. The losses, especially in the case of SHORT KUT, would be big.

Talking of LUCK, while Shree Ashtavinayak has this policy of not holding any screening of their film prior to its release, those who’ve watched a closed-door preview of this multi-starrer are unanimous that the film has never-seen-before action scenes. Besides, the film is rich in entertainment, catering to the masses completely. With stylish promos already creating a buzz for the film, several distributors are confident that the film would embark on a flying start at the box-office.

On the other hand, LOVE AAJ KAL has created a solid impression since the time its first promo came on air. With Imtiaz Ali in the director’s seat and JAB WE MET extremely popular with moviegoers, plus the Saif – Deepika jodi looking fresh and Pritam’s music climbing the popularity charts, it’s felt that LOVE AAJ KAL will also open big.

While KAMBAKKHT ISHQ fetched an electrifying start and if LUCK and LOVE AAJ KAL also open big, the month of July would’ve generated enormous revenue for the film industry.

News 3: Yet another actor is ready to turn producer. Reportedly, he’s in talks with his two friends to help him realise his production plans. One will oversee the production, the other might direct the film.

On Friday night, Kamal Haasan watched his beautiful young daughter, Shruti, set the screen on fire in the forthcoming film Luck. Shruti has already earned rave reviews for Luck song promos ‘Jee Le’ and ‘Aazma’ that are playing on television.

The special preview of the multi-starrer was held in Chennai at director Priyadarshan’s studio. It was also attended by Shruti, younger sister Akshara and noted south-Indian actress and Haasan’s girlfriend, Gautami, among others.

Shruti’s mother and veteran actress, Sarika, who is based out of Mumbai, was not present at the trial show. Much to the joy of director Soham Shah, Priyadarshan was seen cheering for Shruti all through.

On Saturday, another special preview of the thriller was held at Film City in Mumbai. Bipasha Basu, Arshad Warsi, Celina Jaitly, Rohit Shetty and Mimoh Chakraborty were among those who watched the film.

Luck, releasing on Friday 24th July, is an Indian Films – Studio 18 release which also marks Shruti’s debut in Bollywood.
